Flamethrower, Body Slam, Crunch, and Extremespeed. Arcanine is a Sleep-Talker, an incredibly powerful tehcnique in GSC. The idea is attack until you HP is low, Rest, then use Sleep Talk. Although you lose some control for two turns, it adds a lot of longevity to many Pokemon. A good set would be Flamethrower, Body Slam, Sleep Talk, and Rest. Use Curse if you want to Extremespeed (don't sleep-talk with this move, as it only has 8 PP, and its use is too incredible to be wasted).

I talked to Jason about getting into competitive GSC. He said it was pointless because no one plays it and I would be lonely. He told me DP is the way to go. I completely agree with him, but I only want to get into competitive GSC because that's what I have and I only want to get competitive in our Brawl group.
Also, is a Pokemon with two properties (such as dark/fire) a better choice than 1 property (fire)? Is there some balance to that where dark/fire won't have as much fire power as a solo fire pokemon?
Lol, I asked Cha Cha which pokemon I should use for competitive GSC and this is what they said "Jigglypuff's exterior makes him the ultimate pillow, a desirable trait since its harmonic melodies put people to sleep." And another "Tyhplosion seems like a pretty good one to have in your group! Thanks for asking ChaCha!"
Ultimate lols.

Ok, I decided this is how I'm going to have my team
Jolteon - Paralyzer, main electric type Scizor - Toxic (is that possible with Scizor?), Baton Passer Alakazam - Confuse, hypnosis, main Pyschic Snorlax - Rest, Curse, Double-Edge, and Earthquake Tyranitar - Earthquake, Crunch, (need two more - please help) Typhlosion or Ho-oh - Main fire type.
What do you think? Do I have too many slow people? Perhaps use Scizor baton pass for Snorlax or Tyranitar?
Also, Gengar? Discuss.

Lol Rhydon and Tyranitar on the same team opens huge weakness similarities, and they both do similar enough things (well, one's a tank and the other a psuedo-tank) to make that slot redundant.
Remember, you can't just say "I'll take the best Electric, Fire, Attacker, Special Attacker, Wall, and Cleric" and make a team. For example, Chansey is the best at what it does (Special Wall), but, your team may suffer if it is more balanced (thus lacking major offensive powers needed to get that edge to win), meaning you would want a tank like Miltank or Snorlax.
For example, Tyler, 2/3 of your team is weak to Ground. The other two electric. A Marowak with Speed baton passed to it would completely destroy your team. Throw in Ampharos for giggles and to rounf out the edges plus a cleric, and you have your team decimated. Remember to balance your team to what it needs, not because something is good (if your team needs a Cleric, don't add Tyranitar because he is awesome; he won't save you when everyone has Toxic).
Another problem, Speed. No one on your team besides maybe Typhlosion has good speed, meaning anything fast will take your team out. This would not be a problem if you had more defensive Pokemon; Rhydon and Suicune both have Defense but have major Special weaknesses, meaning someone like Alakazam could wreck your team (He could have Thunder and Ice Punch, ending Tyranitar, Suicune, and everyone else).
O, we should fight using Pokemon Stadium 2 to make the battle flashier and faster (although you can see the moves [write them down if you are concerned]).

PKMN Stadium would be neat to do this.
Do you think an all tank team with a Typhlosion would fail epicly?

Snorlax is the best pokemon in GSC, period. He dominated in GSC, was amazing in RSE, and is still really really good in DP

Like Robert said, you need to get Pokemon that will revolve around 1 single Pokemon for your strategy. You can't just get the best sweeper, tank, cleric, etc and have the best team.

We are getting it.
We may have to understood ban Snorlax if our battles get too dominated by him. I won't choose him (never a big Snorlax fan), but since he is not unstoppable, no one else should be stopped form using him too. I just realized he must be pretty intense in Ubers, considering all of them are Special based (except maybe Ho-oh and Celebi because of what role it serves).

Yes and No. Lugia, Ho-oh, Mewtwo, Mew, and Celebi are banned from tournament/standard play, while they are allowed in Ubers (battles with their tier, Uber).
The Legendary Dogs/Birds are not banned because of their typing and stats. They have the same base stats (rough value of stats, like Blissey has Base Sp. Def of 200 but Base Def. of 20) as Dragonite/Tyranitar, while Mewtwo/Lugia/Ho-Oh have Base 680. Mew and Celebi are base 600, but because of having base 100 in all stats (Base 95 in anything is amazing) and because of brokenness (Mew has an intense movepool besides learning every TM, making it have move combinations to hit anything hard).

And I checked about Protein and stuff and apparently there is no limit in GSC, meaning if we want to have fair tournaments, we will have to ban the usage of said items. We could allow anyone to follow how the mechanics work in Generation 3, where you cannot obtain more than 510 Effort Values (Protein, et cetera gives 10 EVs, which increases a stat 2.5 points) and no more than 255 in any single stat. However, this is too complicated, so let's just ban them, alright? Do not be retarded and use them. We will have a strategy guide to check. (can be within 31 points because of IVs, which are completely random and better if bred).

Pretty much. I am not sure if Pokemon give you EVs in Silver. Probably, but those aren't technically infinite because you also get EXP, finally maxing out at 100.
