Awesome Land 3: Trial of the Wind Sage

[Mizagium]

Sarah awoke suddenly. Or did she? She was falling. Or was she standing still? The world around her was dark and yet so clear.

A light from an unknown source illuminated the pillar on which she stood.

~Sarah Mambutoo O'Malley, Child of the Null-Void.~ A voice addressed her. She tried to answer but found herself unable to speak.

~The time has come for you to cast off your timidity and show the world who you are.~ The voice seemed to come from inside her head, as she was unable to locate the speaker.

~Your time in the Veral-Dimension has forever changed you. Being so close to the Null-Void has infused some of its power within you. Now it is time for those powers to manifest themselves.~

Sarah felt a surge of power within her, so great was it that it forced her to her knees until it passed.

~Are you ready?~ Sarah nodded. ~Good. Now raise your right hand.~ Sarah did so. ~Let the power flow into your hand. Good. Now release it!~ Sarah did so. A burst of power exploded from her hand. It startled her.

~This is a Void-blast. Use it to push your foes away. Now raise both your hands. Place them together. Now concentrate on the image of a wall. Good. Now release it!~ A small, flat thing of energy spread before her and dissipated.

~This is a Null-shield. Use it to protect you and those around you.~ Sarah was pleased with herself.

~There is one other matter to attend to, Sarah. With the disappearance of Johnny, you have been left without a weapon.~ A ball of light materialized before her.

~An oblivion sphere.~ The voice said. ~Take it and choose the form of your weapon.~ Sarah thought about the possibilities of what she could make. Finally she chose. the oblivion sphere extended and slimmed.

~The halberd, a swift, noble weapon.~ Sarah nodded taking Oblivion in her hands.

~Johnny is in need of your help, Sarah. He is trapped beyond tis dimension. Recover the Scrolls of Science and assist Bill Nye in uncovering the World Nexus.~ Sarah nodded in understanding.

~Go now, child of the oblivion!~

The world around her lit up and she drifted back to sleep...

Sarah jumped from her sleep. It was night now and Cassandra was nodding off.

"Go to sleep," She told her. "I'll take the watch from here." Cassandra complied without contest and soon was snoring lightly.

Was it all a dream? Sarah pondered as the night turned into day. She was unsure.

It all became clear, however, when she looked down into her lap. There was the halberd, Oblivion

[Duke Nukem]

Narrator was not pleased. In fact, he felt a memorable quote welling inside him from a certain Mole Day Video.

"SOMEONE...IS GOING TO PAY...FOR TAMPERING WITH MY LIFE," the hero roared.

Eyeballing the oncoming behemoth Clyde had become, Narrator took a wider stance. The ground began to crumble beneath his feet. Cracks formed in the ground branching out from his feet and reaching Clyde. A light began to glow from an unknown source in these cracks. The light grew until it was almost blinding.

"I HOPE YOU'RE READY FOR THIS CARL," Narrator yelled at Clyde, "BECAUSE THIS IS GOING TO BE UNPLEASANT FOR YOU. HARRUMPH!!!!?!??!"

The ground shattered as Narrator raised his hands to the sky. Sharp rock fragments flew at Clyde, making contact with his arms raised in defense of the projectiles' onslaught, but that was not the only aspect of Narrator's attack. From beneath the ground rose a bright, powder-like mist. The mist quickly rose above ground and gravitated around a point above the ground. A glowing figure began taking shape as the mist cloud shrank. Gradually, the figure took shape into an enormous spear, at least 15 feet in length and 2 feet in width.

"TAKE A LOOKSY CARL, BECAUSE I'M GOING TO RUN YOU STRAIGN THROUGH WITH THIS PIECE OF WORK. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?" Narrator bellowed.

[Mizagium]

Cassandra and Sarah landed on the shores of Really Cool Land. It had been over a year since Sarah had seen her home, and she was barely able to contain her excitement. Cassandra, too, was glad to be home. Awesome Land felt strange to her.

They decided the best place to start looking for a Scroll was in Reyk'jjavic, the Really Cool capitol city.

The three Ridley siblings charged the Organization XXI members. They folded in their wings and divined towards them at incredible speeds. But the expert blackjack players were even faster. Their Focus powers allowing them to jump out of the way.

Knox flipped and spun in the air and threw a few card at Riley. Two of the cards only scratched his hard scales but a third stuck itself between two pieces of hardened skin. Riley howled in pain and fired a quick lazah at Knox, but he was gone.

Crass landed on top of Rachel. He snickered to himself and placed his hands over her eyes. Rachel screamed in frustration and reached up with her hands to grab him. But Crass was too small for Rachel to find without turning her head, so she preceded to thrash about, throwing herself against trees and rocks

Jace and Sherri landed in trees opposite one another. Having produced a thick net between hem in the air, they waited. Ridley came charging this way moments later. They pulled the diamond net taught and Ridley barreled headfirst into it. Seeing he was caught, he thrashed about trying to get free, only entangling himself further.

They repeated the same tactic with Riley as Knox went off to help Crass. Rachel has thrown him around considerably and Crass actually threw up on Rachel's back, only angering her more. Finally she bucked hard enough to send the weakened boy flying off of her. Knox caught him in the air and brought him to the ground carefully as Jace and Sherri entangled her in a diamond net alongside her siblings.

Crass regained his composure and joined his teammates. The Ridley siblings thrashed and howled in anger. The Hearts of Organization XXI only smirked at them.

"Guess you better than to mess with us now, huh?" Jace taunted.

"Fight with us and you'll always loose!" Sherri declared.

"You heard it here first!" Crass made a thumps-up mockingly.

"Alright, let's go." Knox told them exhaustedly.

The four card players left the Uncharted Mountains to look for another Scroll of Science elsewhere, leaving the three pterodactyls trapped in an unbreakable net.

Nora stepped out of the time portal and went to look for the Scroll of Science in Awesome Land.

[Mizagium]

The Ridley siblings thrashed about in their unbreakable nets. Lazahs were fired and teeth and claws scratched and bit furiously at the diamond ropes. But to no avail. The woven diamond held fast.

In the blink of an eye, the nets were flung off the three pterodactyls. Ridley raised his head in surprise. Four figures draped in dark green robes stood before him. He and his siblings got to their feet to face their liberators. The Ridleys towered over the mysterious robed figures, but they did not seem frightened.

"We saw your little scuffle with the Hearts." The front figure said plainly. It spoke with a female voice of obvious authority.

"Yeah? What of it?" Riley snapped.

"It was pathetic." The three by her side snickered condescendingly. Ridley opened his jaw and let a mighty rawr. The four figures remained unmoved. "The Hearts are screw-ups, if you had trouble with them, you would barley touch us."

"Are you with them?" Rachel asked.

"They choose to not let participate in their games." The three dragons studied these four carefully. "I see some potential in you three." She turned to leave, the three others following heedlessly. "If you ever want to get stronger, look us up. Here's our card." it was just that, a playing card. She tossed to them and it stuck in the ground.

The figures disappeared. Ridley retrieved the card and turned it over. The card was that of an Ace, but one unlike anything he had ever seen. It was a green... four-leaf clover.

~The Clovers!~ Ridley snarled to himself. He crumbled up the card and threw it to the ground. He signaled his siblings and they took wing to Awesome Land, in search for the remaining Scrolls of Science.

[Xero]

A Mysterious Hooded Man (OH NOEZ NOT AGAIN) watched the Ridley siblings as they flew off. So it was time to head back to Awesome Land once again... He figured as much.

The Mysterious Hooded Man spun around and disappeared in a puff of smoke. He reappeared a few seconds later in Awesome Land. He was back. He threw back his hood. His face looked almost exactly like Cha Cha's. His hair and eyes were his only facial features that distinguished him from his cousin.

Helxcima raised his trumpet to his lips and played Revelry to announce his presence. Barely understanding what's been going on lately in Awesome Land, but somehow realizing that everyone was looking for the Scrolls of Science, he too set off in search of the Sacred Scrolls of Bill Nye. *random head asplodes*

[Mizagium]

Sarah and Cassandra arrived at Reyk'jjavik. They moved through the town at a quick pace, not bothering to talk to anybody. It had been over a year, but Sara still knew that way.

the palace loomed ahead, a bastion of peace in a tumultuous world. Pushing aside the guards, Sarah thrust open the doors and made her way to the throne room, Cassandra close behind. She shouted apologies to the guards.

The doors to the throne room burst open and Sarah and Cassandra stood before King Arthur Mambutoo O'Malley and Queen Heather Mambutoo O'Malley.

"Sarah?" Heather whispered. Seeing that it was her daughter she rushed down to her. Sarah flew into her mothers arms and held her tight. Arthur contained himself better and nodded to Cassandra.

"Sarah, it is good to have you back." Sarah broke from her mother's embrace and met her father's stare. He finally broke and drew her into a hug. He abruptly let go.

"Where is Johnny?" Cassandra and Sarah exchanged glances.

Sarah and Cassandra related the story of the last two years. Of Johnny's infiltration of Veralice's tower; of Cha Cha's assistance; of The War of Four Kings and Sarah's rescue; of Bill Nye's challenge and Johnny's disappearance.

"That is quite the interesting tale." Arthur scratched his chin. "You think the Scrolls of Science will help bring Johnny back?"

"Yes." Cassandra answered. Sarah nodded too.

"The best place to look would be in the O Rly mountains." Heather offered.

"Yes, that would be the best place to look."

Sarah and Cassandra eagerly thanked them and turned to leave.

"Wait!" They stopped and turned. "Shouldn't you get a good rest for once?" Heather asked. "The O Rly Mountains are dangerous territory, a good rest in a real bed would be best."

"Yes, and a good dinner, too." Arthur declared.

It had been a while since either Cassandra of Sarah had had a real bed or a decent meal. The readily agreed.

[Xero]

(Tyler! You did that on purpose! But I guess I'll go with it...)

A young man with a sling around his arm and bandages on his head came down the stairs as Queen Heather began to show Sarah and Cassandra out of the room. He saw Sarah and stopped. Then her eyes met his.

Cha Cha just stared in disbelief.

[Mizagium]

(not really, i was gonna leave Cha Cha alone, but whatev.)

"Cha Cha!" Sarah exclaimed. She ran off and wrapped her arms around him.

[Xero]

Cha Cha winced slightly as Sarah squeezed his injured arm, but he put his other arm around her.

"Sarah! I've missed you," he said. "Are you okay?"

[DERRICK]

Derrick decided to pass by. "Whats up Choo Choo?" asked Derrick as Pluto ceased to exist.

[Mizagium]

"Of course!" She shifted her weight off of his injured arm. "I was more worried about you." She said softly.

[DERRICK]

Derrick got bored. so he decided to stand near Cha Cha and Sarah, just to create an awkward moment. He also speed ran Portal 38 times in only 7 seconds!

[Xero]

"I've been fine, thanks to you and Johnny having me brought back here," Cha Cha said, still hugging Sarah. "Your parents have been taking care of me, and I think I could almost come back with you to Awesome Land!"

[Mizagium]

Cassandra threw Derrick out of the palace and let Sarah and Cha Cha continue their sweet moment. Her thoughts turned to her childhood friend Johnny...

[Xero]

(lol If Lucco finds out about this....)

[Mizagium]

(he's never on. Derrick has assumed the role of Narrator.)

[Sartorius]

"Ahh...Yesss...Narrator." Clyde said calmly, summoning a very dusty book from under his chair. "This book tells me...You are very powerful. Yet you have also committed many evil deeds. You are...A great candidate to join me in my Fallen Paradise..." Clyde finished, staring at Narrator's huge spear in appreciation.

"And you...You're more evil than he is! You are another great candidate..." Clyde turned to Leon as he said this, searching through his book. A beam came from the book and hit Leon in the forehead, almost as if it were trying to tap into his mind. "So much evil..." The beam began to pulsate and waves came from Leon's end of the beam to the book. "Murder...Thievery...Anger. Such a bad person." Clyde walked toward Narrator and Leon.

"You two belong down here...Narrator for destroying the laws of physics, dividing by zero, and shooting kittens from cannons...And you, Leon, for everything else. But if you won't come willingly, then I will bring you here myself..." Clyde laughed as balls of darkness flew in front of his hand and began to form a black rifle.

"The range of a sniper rifle, the power of a shotgun, and the rapid fire capabilities of a machine gun. This Shadow Rifle shall ensure you are trapped here for all eternity!!" yelled Clyde. Sprouting long, red and black wings from his back, he flew into the air and began to rapidly fire plasma from his gun toward his adversaries.

[Sartorius]

Seth took out a pocket GPS system and pressed a special button that was located on the back. It was a nanometer in diameter and above it in very small print was written "Press only if you find yourself in an alternate dimension." As he pressed the button, an antenna appeared from the inside and began to scan his surroundings, absorbing as much information as it could.

"Good. And they thought I'd never find this button..." Seth examined the Global Positioning System. It slowly began to change form into a small, DS like device labeled CUPS or Cross Universal Positioning System. "Yes. CUPS will find where I am. Apparently I am near...The Kingdom of Really Cool." said Seth. Metallo Ridley had kept following Sarah and co. while Seth was busy working on his device. He touched the bottom screen where there was a dot that had the word "Sarah" over it. It zoomed into her location in the kingdom. "Hmph. Perfect. RHD, Activate!" yelled Seth. His Radioactive Hologram Device, looking like a standard remote control with an antenna began to scan Metallo Ridley. In an instant a bunch of holographic clones of Metallo Ridley appeared. Although they could not do physical damage in the strictest sense, they were made of pure reflected light energy mixed with radioactivity. Anything they touched, therefore, would be hit with a devastating and destructive amount of energy.

"Holographic Clones, we launch an assault now! Destroy the kingdom, find this 'Sarah' person, and obtain any clues about Bill Nye's hidden scrolls. Move out!" Seth commanded, and his army began to charge toward the palace.

[Myrdraxxis]

Somewhere in Awsome Land....a great yawn was heard. Zais stood up and stretched.

"Well, that was a good nap! I wonder how things are going around here." he said in a strangely benign voice. He sent out some magic to scan the area.

"What the hell? They started a new chapter without me?! oh well I might as well look for these 'Scrolls of Science' since everyone else is." he said, grabbed up his scythe and made a portal.

He stepped out next to Leon.

"Hey there, sorry Im late. See I lost the will to live this morning and as I was hanging the noose I- Holy shit!" Zais stared at Clyde in mild suprise.

[Duke Nukem]

"I'LL SHOW YOU EVIL," Narrator roared.

The ground began to shake. The dark clouds in the skies began to fracture and a red light showed through. Puppies spontaneously appeared out of nowhere only to shrivel up and catch on fire. Enormous flames erupted from the cracks in the ground, towering to the skies in a raging inferno. The very landscape was ripping itself apart in response to Narrator's rage.

"You see what you did? I'm angry now. That does not bode well for you. Now, how about you put that stupid rifle thing down and we solve this. C'mon. Let's hug it out, bitch," Narrator calmly stated.

[Sartorius]

"A new opponent? Ah, how grand!" Clyde laughed, taking out his book while still firing his Shadow Rifle. "Yes...Zais. You are almost as evil as Leon. I can sense it...You shall stay here in my Fallen Paradise for eternity!" hissed Clyde as he kept tapping into Leon's memory.

"The memory of all of the evils you have committed...Shall be resurrected and given form here. Let us start with...RIDLEY." Clyde said. A pentagram appeared in the center of the Fallen Paradise and a burst of light erupted from it, revealing a large black dragon creature. It seemed to be only a shadow of its deceased counterpart. "Dragon, attack Zais. I'll deal with Narrator and Veralice." Clyde said, shooting the two people as promised.

[DERRICK]

Just as Derrick began walking away from the sappy cliche plot device, he noticed a disturbance. It seemed as though two of awesome land's most powerful people disappeared. Derrick teleported to the location of Clyde and Zais. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a 35 foot long harpoon. With a crazed stare he began to chant,
"SPLIT YOUR LUNGS WITH BLOOD AND THUNDER,
IF YOU SEE THE WHITE WHALE!
CAST YOUR OARS INTO THE SEA,
IF YOU WISH TO PREVAIL!
THIS TITANIUM LEG THAT WHICH PROPELS ME,
WITH YOUR HARPOONS THRUST INTO THE SKY!
TAKE A GANDER INTO ITS CROOKED BROW,
AND LOOK STRAIT INTO ITS DEMONIC EYES!!!!
WHITE WHALE!!!"
Derrick threw the harpoon.
"HOLY GRAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

[Myrdraxxis]

Zais stared at shadow Ridley with mild interest. "Hmmmm Im.......NOT IMPRESSED!" he yelled.

Suddenly Zais was standing behind shadow Ridley, scythe resting on his shoulder. Then SR fell into two peices. Zais smirked. "You have a lot to learn in the evil department buddy."

[Sartorius]

"Ah, that was merely a test, my fellow sinner." laughed Clyde, who sent the harpoon flying toward Zais.

"If I really wanted you to feel pain, I would get a truly powerful memory."

"AAAAAAAAAAAH!" Leon yelled. He fell to his knees as his memory was searched by Clyde. The pain in his head was nearly unbearable as one by one Leon's deepest thoughts were searched through.

"Shadow Neo Ridley, awaken!" Clyde said as another pentagram appeared. A slightly darker burst of light erupted, revealing Neo Ridley, the triple headed dragon defeated in ages past.

SNR roared as his heads each fired a beam of darkness at Zais.
