Wait I don't belong in this thread! *leaves*

Ask tomorrow, just to be sure. I have no clue myself, but Mote+ should clear that up.

Practice last week was from 7 to 9. It's supposed to change to 6-9, and eventually 6-8. Hopefully, they'll change it to right after school later on in the year, but the way I heard it, I didn't hear anything about that.

I talked with Mr. Mote after sectionals today, and he said he'd get a copy of the drill charts for me/us. So Anthony and/or Geof and/or I are now honorary marching leaders. We have the authority and right to talk to fix sets, and we're getting the drill charts tomorrow, so we actually have something to use as a reference.

WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO TALK AND FIX SETS?!?! THAT'S AMAZING!
Did Mote say this or do those benefits just come with the drill charts?

Okay, Geof says he has the first two show tunes memorized and he's ready to pass off. When do you want to pass off, Anthony? I think I'm going to have Geof pass off tomorrow. I might have him there about half an hour early so we have time. If you want, thirty minutes is probably enough time to pass both of you off. And I'll find another time to pass off Zach and Victoria.

Eh... it's pretty much part of the rights that come with the drill charts (and an honorary marching leadership position).... but he kinda implied it. And that's good enough for me. lolol Katie needs to come to picture day on Sunday, with a white shirt, shorts, and black socks. And she can borrow a uniform and just jump in front of the trumpet picture. By the way, Katie, can you come to sectionals next Wednesday?

I can pass off the first 2 songs before next wednesday, so I can work with Jonathon during lessons.
Also, what did you say to Mr. Mote to convince him?

The trumpets are having trouble with marching the sets because we don't have anyone in the trumpets to fix sets. And I asked if we could have some trumpet marching leaders and a drill chart or two. I didn't have to say that much.

Before next Wednesday? As in tomorrow possibly? Or you'll have it ready by Wednesday, ready to pass off on Wednesday?

Rob's not a section leader. Unit Captains can't pass off music unless they're section leader too (and that's only Katie Arce... unless you count Marcus... lol) Just pass off to me. If you give me some time to look over the music, I can transpose it, and I can pass you off.

I guess. But for now, no one should pass off to anyone except their own section leader unless they get it approved by mote.

Meh... Rob passed off his music to Josh today. Not a problem anymore (until he's ready to pass off the next song).

Yes, we all judge you behind your back.
What's the problem with officers passing off music? I've let Robert and Hunter pass clarinets off. It's no big deal, as long as they're an officer.

The problem is Mote and his titles. Section Leader = Music Leader. Unit Captain/Lieutenant = Marching Leader. But I've given up on Mote and his contradictions.

Mote doesn't know what he's doing half the time. I just don't make a big deal of the title system and LEAD. That's why we're there. I teach sectionals, but I'm not a nazi about me being the only person allowed to pass people off. I'll usually have Robert and Hunter pass somebody off while I pass someone off (6 person section for the win). I don't even have Robert and Hunter pass off. I trust them to know the music, and they're officers, so I don't think it's necessary to pass them off.
