Hey, anyone know who Christopher Jackson is? I got a friend request from him on Facebook and I have no idea who he is. Is he some new trumpet we're getting? He's in my grade, by the way.

Hooray for Spirit Laps! Mote called us rookies at leadership camp because we were "pitiful" when we responded to one of Beth's commands. So we had to run a lap. i got a mild asthma attack from the amazing spirit i attained from that lap. ;D

Well, I heard some time in the middle of the year that there was some random Asian trumpet player who might be joining band. But I heard he was a junior last year. But I could have just been hearing things and it might not be true. (And don't say that I have competition if it is true: that's just a stereotype ("Asian skills"). And besides, if you were planning on saying it, I already thought of it, so there's no point in saying it anyway.)

Asian skills. Anyways, I can't edit polls. If I were leadership, I would be the responding voice for everyone. Too bad Mote is dumb. But - it was cool that I told Robert that I didn't want to help put away tables because it's not my responsibility

This year's instrumentation is broken! (In the bad way.) But at least the brass section is catching up to the woodwinds. 24 brass and 25 woodwinds. 12 trumpets + 6 baritones/5 baritones and 1 trombone + 2 tubas + 4 mellophones = 24 brass. 7 flutes + 7 clarinets + 10 saxophones + 1 bass clarinet = 25 woodwinds.

Marching band was tight today. Too bad the trumpets have more rookies than all the other sections combined (we have 6 rookies), and about 4/6 of them are retarded. We are really behind everyone else.

marching band was good today, and btw justin ur steping on it honestly made the sound no different then normal, mabey even a lil more in-tune, but yea u still are going to have to pay like 150-200 dollars! wel u, ur parents, either way! so other than that was good first day and we didnt ahve any rookies in our section!!!!! so was very easy!

Justin's awesomeness is OVER 9000!!! Anthony, even you couldn't contain enough of his awesomeness to survive if he stepped on you.

It would almost be like a Falcon Punch. It's close, but then again, nothing can be more epic than Falcon Punch. I think to avoid confusion, we need to agree that Justin Falcon Kicked Tyler's mellophone intead of "stepping" on it.

Yeah, I'm all for the idea that Justin Falcon Kicked Tyler's mellophone. lol Swing dancing. I hope Mote has an audition for solos, because I don't want to do it, and we'll all have to do it if the whole band does it. Besides, as we saw today, the number of people in the band doesn't match up, so we can't have the whole band do it. It was pretty easy to learn, but I am NOT dancing on the field in front of half of our school, half the other school, the other band, and both schools' football teams. I'm okay with the hand jive... sorta. But I'm not swing dancing.

What's the hand jive?
It was funny seeing Derrick and Adam Spriggs dance together and also Tyler D. and Steven. Tyler attempted to dance by himself but it didn't work xD

Hey everyone, Michael sent me a link to all of our show tunes so you can listen to them. It would be good if you could write down the link and give it to all your rookies and probably Mote/Rice/Stallings. www.msconcepts.com/shows/show-detail.asp?showid=498

Yeah, even the Etowah astroturf is better. I hate the rubber pellets, but it's much easier to march on astroturf than the Booth field. Good thinking, Anthony. Yeah, everyone needs to listen to the music to get the style down and, hopefully, eventually, the tempo too. It really helps to play along with the music, or at least do the fingerings. If you can play everything as close to the music as possible, I'm sure it'll sound amazing when we get out on the field. And like Anthony said, give the link to your entire section, especially the rookies, because I noticed that a lot of the freshmen trumpets don't have a clue what the music is supposed to sound like, so the style is completely wrong.

Mote said that next week we'll still be at booth. My arms are a little sore but I still have enough energy to go for some more marching band
