Dueling in the little time that we have during the mornings it much too difficult and inconvenient, making it hard to finish matches. The Light wants us to use the YVD program. It allows people to easily duel each other over the Internet and makes it easy to keep track of Duels and Matches. To download this program go to:
YVD Download Site
After that, follow these steps:
1) Go to the Download section of the site by clicking the Downloads tab at the top of the screen.
2) Download the following files:
a) YVD 9.0 MSI (6.82 MB)
1. Execute the file and follow the installer instructions.
b) YVD 9.0 TCG (World) Sets (708.54 KB)
2. This should come in a ZIP file so you'll need to extract it
into the same folder that has the YVD program.
c) All Images (12.38 MB)
1. This should also be a ZIP file. Extract it into the Images
folder which should be within the YVD program folder.
3) Assuming you have even the slightest amount of competence, you should have completed those steps easily. Now open your YVD program and you should get a screen with buttons that say "Load Deck", "Save Deck", "Settings", and other such things.
4) Now you have to do the hardest part...MAKING A DECK. Gasp! Use the search bar to search for cards. They should show up at the bottom of the window assuming you installed everything correctly. Double click on a card in the "Card Name" section of the screen to add it to your deck.
5) Once you've made a deck (has to be from 40-150 cards) click the DUEL button in the lower right hand corner of the screen. A message should appear that wants to confirm that you are using the right deck. Click Yes. A new screen appears that has the playing field and a chat window.
6) In the drop down bar under the word Connect, click "Server Duel: I'm going to be the CLIENT" A window entitled "Account Verification" should appear. Enter a username and password in the window and click "Verify Account."
7) If your username and password are valid and aren't taken by someone else, you should now have a YVD account. After this you just need to find someone to duel. I suggest using the Basic IRC program in your YVD folder. It will provide a link to the YVD chatroom.
8) This program can be confusing, so if you have any questions just post them here. I hope this allows everyone to duel easily and without hassle. There is a downside to the program: Everything is manual. You'll have to calculate your own LP, send your monsters to the graveyard by yourself, etc. But you'd be doing that in the real world anyway.
