Ok, so now that I got your attention, I think we should have some yugioh tournaments in the mornings. We can start once 2nd semester begins (since by then we'll all be itching to show each other all of our new yugioh cards we got for Christmas [lol what a waste of a gift]). Everyone that wants to enter can put their name in a hat or something and then we'll draw to see who verses who. Then, we will make those people duel in a best 2 out of 3 (hopefully the best 2 out of 3 will be over before the bell). If you still have time after your 2/3 then you can do friendlies with whomever. The winner of the tournament will get to verse me (lol JK). The winner of the tournament will get a booster pack provided by me. Here are the rules: - No paper cards (sorry, have to make this fair)
- Follow the banned/restricted card list (if you are caught using a banned/restricted card, the card(s) must be removed and the duel must be restarted). (make sure you still have 40 cards min)
- At the end phase of your turn, if you have more than 6 cards, you must discard cards until you have 6 cards
- Japanese cards are allowed as long as you provide translations. If you are caught with the wrong translation, you forfeit the duel.
- A coin toss or "middle card rule" decides who goes first.
- If you have cards in sleeves, then all of your other cards must be in sleeves and must be in the same color (cough jonathan).
- Follow all the rules in the Official Yu-Gi-Oh Handbook
Discuss rules, add rules, or subtract rules. Kthxbai

OO! OOH OOH OOH OOH OOH! Appoint me Supreme Judgemaster! I know 95% of the rules and generally act as judge during 4th period lit. And I play online a lot so I'm well versed in the banned/limited cards and the rulings on certain cards.
Also, I want into this tournament. Imma get some good cards second semester.

I would love to, but I refuse to abide by the banned/restricted list. I don't disapprove of it, its just that I don't have good substitutes for banned cards. (i.e. Monster Reborn)

Still, I have Cyber Jar, Change of Heart, and a few other banned cards that I refuse to get rid of.

Yeah, Monster Reborn is legal.
Usually if you buy any of now-a-day's structure decks, it will come with all the staples that are not banned. AKA Lightning Vortex instead of Raigeki, Heavy Storm instead of Harpie's Feather Duster, etc.
Besides, Tyler, if you can't use the banned cards, then no one else can either, so it's fair.

Who thinks we should have a competitive TCG category (which will include pokemon)?

Yes. Rename this place and leave the Competitive Pokemon place for the video games.

Lol I haven't played the Pokemon card game in 6 years. My first deck was a psychic deck when I was 5 or something. (Lol my dad was a teacher back then so he confiscated cards from his school and gave them to me.) My next deck was a water deck. I don't know if I'll ever play it again. I'd rather leave them separate.

Competitive Pokemon only applies to video games.
I think we should have a Competitve TCG section (this one)
that encompasses all, Yu-Gi-OH!, Pokemon, Magic, or any thing else you faggots play.

Well, the thing with the Competitive Pokemon board is that it has to do with Shoddy and stuff. No one actually plays the TCG except Robert (I know how to play but I don't have a deck). If I made a seperate category for TCGs, then the only with posts would be YuGiOh, because no one plays Magic, Digimon, or Pokemon TCG. Think of another name that can fit both Pokemon and Yugioh.
Competitive Nerd Games.

i think any banned card that clearly everyone has (dark hole) it should be aloud, and i also think printed decks should be aloud but they have to follow the banned limited rules as well

i think any banned card that clearly everyone has (dark hole) it should be aloud, and i also think printed decks should be aloud but they have to follow the banned limited rules as well No. If you knew anything about competitive Yugioh, you would know that there is always only one good deck at one time. For example, in the current metagame, TeleDAD is the best deck. TeleDAD currently has no counter decks and rapes any deck in just a few turns. And guess what? This deck is completely tournament legal. I don't want someone bringing in a TeleDAD deck they just printed off the internet (a real TeleDAD deck costs more than $1,000) and then rape everybody's faces. As far as limited and banned cards go, I don't think it is a good idea. Yugioh is a game of strategy, and there is no strategy by destroying all of the monsters on the field at no cost whatsoever, and then getting a free hit by summoning a card. By following the banned/limited list, it forces you to be creative because you don't have those really common and really broken cards. For example, the only reason by current deck is so rape is because 1/4 of my deck is banned.

I don't even remember the last time I used Raigeki or Dark Hole in my own deck. I think I used Dark Hole in my Kaiba Starter Deck 5 years ago, but that's about it. Cards are banned and limited for good reason, updated every half year according with new mechanics added to the game. If the pros follow these rules, we should as well. (Although I really wish Cyber Dragon wasn't limited. Apparently he makes it too easy to Synchro Summon monsters.)
