Sorry again for the misplacement of this topic, but I wanted to show off an action video of pokemon. A few things... the pace of the video picks up as it goes on so please watch the whole thing, and if you have a youtube account post a comment and let me know what you think! Otherwise here is okay too. So enjoy! I worked hard on it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzGWQMCm260

Hey I just saw the video. Very cool and nice quality.
What program did you use to record it?

To record it? Heh I went cheap and used a DVD recorder and just hooked up my Wii to it. I thought about using a Dazzle or something, but those are so expensive! As for the editing I am sad to say that I used Windows movie maker, however Mendez recently gave me Vegas so I will be using that from now on! Gotta love that kid...

If you want to get better, watch videos of Marriland and anyone from Smogon University. Best in the world.

Yeah I know. Those people mostly play in the OU metagame (which I hate) I am primarily a UU player. Heck I can hold my own against some OU teams. Anyways I am not a bad pokemon player at all. =P
(Oh and it is simple, all you have to do is hook up the wii to a DVD recorder/player and insert a correct format blank disk, then you can record what is going on. After that you have to use a DVD ripper and compress the file.

Does the Wii have a Video Output? That's the only way to hook it up to a DVD recorder isn't it?
Oh, and could it work for recording gamecube stuff?

Yeah, I'm making a combo video for Brawl but all I have is a video camera with 2 tapes for recording. My mom has a DVD recorder I can use and I didn't know you could use it with the Wii so thanks for the heads up. My dad is good with the techs so he can figure out what to do.

Speaking of the combo video, let me know when you want my recordings. Especially the reverse spike ones. I think I have a couple where I do that...

4leaf - if I used the DVD recorder would I have to play my Wii using my computer or would I be able to play it on my TV and then transfer the videos to my computer?

TV then transfer matches to the computer. But after you put the disc in your computer then you have to use a free DVD ripper program that you can download off the internet to rip the files from the disc you just recorded to the computer. Then you need to take the file and compress it to a usable size.

Ok, I understand now, and I'll be able to start recording matches next Friday. Thanks for the help

Yeah. Remember, crew battles. Try to form a team with the seniors or whomever. Once you form your team, I'll have the same amount of people on my team as your team so it'll be fair (try to keep it less than 10 people per team). We can then get together during the summer a few times and have crew battles, tournaments, fun matches, etc.
