No real person is 100% natural skills unless you only play computers, for we all have to adapt to other people's strategies, changing natural habits to get better. Besides, there is nothing wrong with learning from someone.

Good point. What I meant was I refuse to copy pro-strategies because I develop my own, but yeah, nobody is 100% natural. It's not that I think I'm that great, I just don't want to be one of those people that only use strategies by others instead of playing on their own strategies. I like Brawl because it's so skill based, unlike Melee where wave-dashing and whatnot was king. Skill should determine who's good.

I know a certain samus player that doesn't even know how to tech and he 4 stocked Jimmy this morning. Melee doesn't require tech skill to be good, but it requires tech skill to be pro.

Randy 4-stocked Jimmy? Good game.
I like the fact that being pro in Brawl doesn't mean exploiting techs, but comboing and whatnot (ignoring chain-grabs). That takes real skill, not just having a knack for the game. It takes a lot of practice just to create a combo, not to mention developing and mastering it.

Jimmy's not that good. He's way too predictable and uses wrong moves at the wrong time (sorry Jimmy if you see this).
And yeah, if you manage to pull off a combo in Brawl, you're pro, because there are no combos in brawl, unless of course you're pro.

That's what separates the pros from the kids in Brawl. Like techs, only better because I don't hate them.
Jimmy's not that good with Captain Falcon, which is who he says he uses. He's better with Falco and Fox, mostly Falco. He's pretty good, but before Brawl, I could consistently beat him with Marth after having Melee for a couple weeks (I didn't have a Gamecube, so I didn't get Melee until I got a Wii).

He said he mastered wavedashing with Marth but this morning when I fought him he didn't do it once.

He can wavedash fine, he just hasn't worked it into his playing style yet. And...he got addicted to Kingdom Hearts, so he's out of practice. I call and intervention...or not. I don't really care. Good game.

I'm going to work on my tech skill in melee during the summer. I don't care much about getting better at Brawl because you win in Brawl by mindgames and you can practice mindgames in either game. I also don't care if you guys hate me for being a techy. I feel my game can't improve much unless I do use some techs. Besides, everyone will be crawling back to melee once they find out that brawl's metagame won't develop passed ice climber's chaingrabs.

I don't mind other people teching, my code of honor just prevents me from teching. I'll chain grab every once in a while, but only if I get really pissed. It's what happens when I unleash my fury.
Speaking of chain grabs, I think Luigi's d-throw in Brawl may be able chain-grab at relatively low damages. I'll have to look into it, but it may be more than just a good combo-move.

It'll probably work against any fast faller like Fox.

Yeah. I had a pro moment in Brawl with Jimmy the other day. I was super-training with Luigi and he was using Metaknight. He was on his last stock and was recovering, and was nearing the stage when...I REVERSE SPIKED HIM. That's right, I ran off the stage and hit him with a perfectly timed fire jump punch. I am the man.

Holy crap Lucco, you should have used the in-game recording system so I could put it in the combo video I'm making!

Register my Wii so I can send videos to you (I already have your Wii number and I just put mine in my footnote). I got some really good ones, including a recreation of the reverse spike. Have at you!

Do it tomorrow, so you can get super psyched over my massively hardcore vids. They're not pro-level, but I'm pretty pumped about a couple of them. Of course, they're against computers, so I can's be dissin' no peeps 'bout dey defeats.
